Sony SmartEyeGlasses
Sony’s new SmartGlasses were introduced at CES in Las Vegas. It will display instant information and notifications right in front of your eyes. Sony claims
its SmartEyeGlasses will include a hand-held controller that you can navigate via the user interface. It will also consist of a camera. The prototype
functions with Android phones which are connected through Wi-Fi or Bluetooth. You will also need an app from the Google Play Market to use it.
LaForge Optical ICIS
This smart glass is expected to release in mid-2015. Although not much information is available at this point, but the company claims it has 6 hours
battery life and designed stunningly. The smartglass technology consists of prescription eyewear which will display notifications from devices like your
phone. It also has a GPS location system, accelerometer, speaker, microphone and a camera.
Atheer One
The smart glass from Atheer Labs is expected to be released in December 2014. As the smart glass has not yet been released, not much is known about the
technology. However, it has been all over tech news and experts describe Atheer One as “Google Glass meets 3D.” It is expected that the
smart glass will include two 8 megapixel cameras observe surroundings and synchronize Augmented Reality with the real world. It will also have a 65 degree
field of view. Atheer One will also consist of ARM processor, GPS, touchscreen panel, accelerometer, Bluetooth and WIFI.
Samsung Gear Blink
Samsung is gearing up to provide stiff competition to Google Glass and is set to enter the Smart Glasses technology market. The Korea Times report that
Samsung will reveal its glasses at the IFA trade show in Berlin this year. Samsung’s smart glasses are currently being named Gear Blink. Similar to the
Galaxy Gear smartwatch, you will have to link a smartphone to the Gear Blink to get notifications, alerts and valuable information in your field of view. It will be exciting to see how Samsung will use wireless capability, processing and storage to become the market leader.
Meta Pro
The Meta Pro has a screen area which is 15 times of the Google Glass. It also has a 40-degree field of view and a large 3D holographic HD screen that shows
1280 x 720 pixel images. This smart glass from Meta also has 2 RGB cameras, 3D surround sound, stereoscopic 3D, 3D time of flight sensors, compass,
gyroscope, as well as a 9-axis integrated motion unit with accelerometer.
